Hoover



The city of Hoover was formed in 1967 the germs of which were laid in the late 1950s. It is a city in the Jefferson County in the Birmingham-Hoover metro area. Using his intellect and mind, William Hoover realized that things were about to change with the widening of Highway 31. He immediately as many acres of land he could and opened an insurance company. It initially had a population of only 410 which grew to 3,594 in six years. Hoover enjoys a moderate climate with an average annual temperature ranging from 51.9 F to 73.6 F. Fall is the best time to visit Hoover.

The $300 million Riverchase Galleria was built in 1986 and rapidly became the state's premier shopping, dining, and entertainment center.
